It’s
Fiesta Time as Cheli’s fires up the outdoor grills at 3 p.m.
Friday, serving authentic Mexican fare such as tacos, burritos,
queso dip, fresh salsas and gourmet tortillas. A Charity Happy Hour
benefiting SPSCdetroit.com's Race For The Cure Team, Cheli’s
Children Foundation and Michigan Kids will kick off the festivities.
Gorgeous Tecate models will give away T-shirts and party
beads.

Margaritas will be flowing
brisklyoffering the perfect excuse to get out of the office early!
Festive Latin music
will provide an excellent backdrop in the late afternoon for the
ultimate after-work happy hour.

Cinco de Mayoroots, this party will run non-stop deep
into the night with a dynamic that is sure to captivate the
crowd. DJ Knight will spin Raggaeton and festive Latin
beats & Emcee Dante will entertain the crowds.

The courageous
will compete in a sloppy-burrito eating contest. Bring your
appetites as we will pick out hungry party goers to
participate!

- ABSOLUT Bartending Competition w/ Celebrity Judges
Local Bartenders and Bartender "want to be's" will compete
in this competition of ABSOLUT Vodka Mixology for the "best
drink" competition. Local Celebs & High profile types
to judge the competition include: Melody Baetens- Detroit News Staff Writer and co-host of Detroit Local 101 on RIFF2,
Dave Malosh- Bassist in the Paybacks and Wolfbait, and Suzy Cole- On-Air Talent at WRIF and RIFF2. All are members of the "Hamtramck Drinking
Team"!

JODY RAFFOUL
is from Southern Ontario, and has a diverse career as a working
class pop-rock singer/songwriter has continued to put him in the
spotlight here stateside. Jody has already brought his signature
throaty vocal style across the states, opening for big name artists
such as Collective Soul, Kid Rock, Nickelback, Joe Cocker, Blues
Traveler, Richard Marx, Counting Crows, The Allman Brothers Band,
Uncle Kracker, John Entwhistle, Chris Isaak, Paul Rodgers and
most recently Bon Jovi.
A reliable “critic’s pick” in the Detroit Metro area, Jody’s
career jumped leaps in 2006 when he beat out over 17,500 bands
nationwide in the Bon Jovi “Have a Nice Gig”
competition.
Jody’s “Light of Day”
won the regional gig, chosen by
Detroit’s WDVD 96.3, giving him the chance to open for Bon Jovi at
the sold out Palace at Auburn Hills in November 2005. In early 2006
Jody was named the Grand Prize winner of the national contest, hand
picked and announced personally by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora.
He went on to open a sold out show at Giant’s Stadium in Bon
Jovi’s home state, New Jersey, alongside fellow Canadians,
Nickelback. As the national winner he was also featured on XM
Satellite Radio’s, Billy Zero Unsigned Artists show. The contest
win and word of mouth has increased his following across the states
winning over new fans along the way.

Event sponsors will officially bring in the Cinco de Mayo holiday with a midnight margarita toast,
showcasing south-of-the-boarderl style hand-crafted Sauza Tequila’s Premium Margaritas. The energy will start the traditional Mexican holiday with a bang.
$2 margaritas so everyone can participate in the toast!

The action comes alive at 11:00 a.m. for lunch while local chefs
and “Taco Technicians” tackle the hungry crowds and fresh Latin beats provide the perfect backdrop.

DJ Jose & Carlos Sedaq (Papi Queso!)
DJ Jose
and other guest DJs will spin Latin Fusion Mixed Music & Reggaeton along with your favorite
party and dance music.
2 - 6pm
Salsa Competition & Dancing
Groove
Latino Style with Detroit's hottest DJ's spinning Caliente (Spanish
for hot and spicy) Music. DJ Jose & DJ Carlos Seda (Papi Queso)
will keep the heat turned up. SalsaDetroit.com hosts Salsa and Latin Dancing with a Salsa Dance Competition from 2pm - 6pm, with a $200 Grand Prize. Judges for the competition will be professional Salsa Instructors including Jamin Williams of YA Salsa, Elaine Marrero of Troy Dance Studio.
No additional entry fees.
Everyone is welcome to join in on
the dancing for fun or to compete!
Cuisine:
Authentic Mexican cuisine created by Carlos Collier, renowned executive chef. Food will include his outstanding burritos, queso dip, fresh salsas and gourmet tortilla chips. Cheli’s Chili Bar will also serve handcrafted margaritas in a variety of authentic flavors to complement the traditional Mexican beers, Tecate and Dos Equis Mexican Cervezas.
